EIC/CSSE are sponsoring a 'A Trans-Canada HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Link for better Integration of Renewable Energy.' Vancouver Island Branch of EIC/CSSE Meeting Date: Friday, October 3, 2014 at 12 noon at Oak Bay Recreation Centre PLEASE NOTE: NETWORKING FROM 11:30 AM; THE MEETING WILL START PROMPTLY AT NOON Topic : Mr. Guy van Uytven, P.Eng, FCSSE will give a talk updated for events since the EIC's 2013 Climate Change Technology Conference in Montreal on 'A Trans-Canada HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Link for better Integration of Renewable Energy.' Guy van Uytven is an international power systems consultant with extensive experience in bulk power transmission line planning and design. We will meet in the (upper level) Sports View Lounge at the Oak Bay Rec Centre, 1975 Bee Street (just south from Fort Street one block east of Foul Bay Road). Free in-lot and on-street parking is available. A buffet lunch will include salad, hot entre, dessert, tea/coffee and a cash bar.
